What is AEO & GEO - and why it's not “SEO with a new label”
Answer Engine Optimization (AEO) and Generative Engine Optimization (GEO)are the practice of structuring your content and digital footprint so AI answer engines - ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Claude and Google's AI Overviews - cite, recommend and accurately represent your brand when people ask buying questions. Traditional SEO competes for ten ranked links and lets the user choose. Answer engines return one answer and make the choice for the user.
